Extended is intentionally designed to build on Continuous, but the focus shifts from practicing individual skills to integrating them in a more advanced ensemble setting. Rather than isolating concepts, we’ll work on sustaining characters and relationships, making stronger editing choices, tracking patterns and callbacks, supporting the larger piece, and applying those skills in performance through two shows and post-show notes. My intention is to also continue to introduce and refine formats with/alongside you. In the last Extended, we revisited La Ronde, Popcorn, Armando, and explored the BAT, Bilcus, WeirdAss, Spokane, monoscene, and Movie format. We may not touch on all of these depending on the class and how we progress/what we need to focus on, but know that I introduce formats that touch on elements that make you a stronger improviser as a whole rather than a one trick pony.
